Privacy Policy for the FestivalGuide app

We, the developers of the FestivalGuide app, attach great importance to the protection of your private information. Your personal data is treated with discretion and in accordance with applicable data protection laws and this privacy policy.

General

It is usually possible to use our app without providing personal data. Where information such as name, address or e-mail address is collected, this is done exclusively on a voluntary basis. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express permission.

We would like to point out that the transmission of data on the Internet can have security gaps. It is not possible to completely protect data from unauthorized access by third parties.

The processing of personal data takes place on the basis of the legal provisions of the GDPR.

Data stored on your device

The following data is stored locally on your device only. The developers cannot access it at any time:

• Your favorite artists and their ratings (used to suggest music events).
• Favorite events and planning/visit status.
• Artist–event associations for planning and historical documentation.
• Optionally, location coordinates (used to calculate distances to events).

You can export all data at any time via the backup function. The data is saved to your device in JSON format and remains accessible even after uninstalling the app.

Third-party services

MusicBrainz — The app queries the open-source music database at musicbrainz.org. Your IP address and request data are transmitted to their servers and stored in server log files. See the MetaBrainz Privacy Policy for details.

Nominatim / OpenStreetMap — For text-based location search, the app uses Nominatim. Your IP address, device locale, and request data are transmitted to their servers. See the OSM Foundation Privacy Policy for details.
